The Directorate of Supply and Internal Trade in Luxor Governorate dealt painful blows to monopolists and violators, as part of its intensive efforts to tighten control over markets and ensure the safety of goods offered to citizens.

1.5 tons of fodder and wheat seeds of unknown origin were seized in Esna and Zinnia

The campaigns launched by the Directorate today resulted in the seizure of 1.5 tons of fodder and seeds of unknown origin in the Esna and Al-Zinia centers.

An unidentified ton of fodder was seized in Esna

The Supply Department at the Esna Center, headed by Mr. Ahmed Taha, led a wide inspection campaign, which succeeded in seizing a full ton of poultry feed (20 bags weighing 50 kg, fattening 21%) without any invoices or documents indicating its source.

The campaign resulted in the issuance of 9 reports for failure to announce prices, and a report for managing an establishment without a license, bringing the total number of violations in Esna to 11 catering violations, which reflects the vigilance of the regulatory agencies in confronting violations.

Violations in the bakeries and markets sector in Zinnia

In parallel, the Zinnia Supply Department, headed by Mr. Abdul Razzaq Omar, launched a similar campaign, which was able to seize half a ton of wheat seeds of unknown origin, due to the lack of tax invoices or possession documents.

The campaign was not limited to food commodities, but rather extended to include bakeries and markets, where 13 various violations were issued, including 8 reports of failure to announce prices, and a report of lack of a health certificate in one of the cafes, in addition to several violations in municipal bakeries.

These moves come in implementation of the directives of Dr. Sherif Farouk, Minister of Supply, and the instructions of Engineer Abdel Muttalib Amara, Governor of Luxor, and under the direct supervision of Engineer Abdel Razek El Safi, Undersecretary of the Directorate, and Engineer Gabriel Bakri, Director General of Internal Trade, on the necessity of confronting all forms of commercial fraud.

All seized items were seized, the necessary reports of the facts were prepared, and the Public Prosecution was notified to initiate investigations and take deterrent legal measures.
