Are you having storage issues on your hard drives, and your device is running Windows 10? Here are some tips on how to free up hard drive space in Windows 10.

How to increase hard drive space in Windows 10

1. Empty the Recycle Bin

We all send files we don’t want to the Recycle Bin and forget them there. This adds a lot of space to the device’s memory and leads to increased hard disk space, especially if you have large files there.

You can right-click on the recycle bin icon to get the option to empty the bin directly.

If you can’t find the Empty Bin option, go to the Start menu and go to Settings Settings and select the system Systemthen go to Storage Storage. You will be able to select storage devices within your computer – look for temporary files Temporary files And click on it.

This will display any locations of temporary files, including the Recycle Bin. Check the box next to Recycle Bin, and select the Remove files option Remove files at the top of the screen and confirm your decision.

2. Uninstall irrelevant applications

There are cases when we install the application for a trial and end up leaving it on our computer after the trial period ends. Some applications can take up a lot of space on our drive and it is better that we remove them.

To uninstall apps, go to the Start menu, then Settings Settings and select Applications Appsthen select Apps & features Apps & features. Then you can see all installed applications. Find out which apps are valuable to you, and delete the ones you can live without. Double-check that the app doesn’t contain anything of great value, then select it and choose Uninstall.

3. Backup to external drives

Having portable external drives is important because it is one of the simplest ways to clean and augment a hard drive on Windows 10, and thus move additional data out of your computer.

Connect your hard drive and make sure it is properly formatted and ready to upload. Drag and drop the files into the new drive using File Explorer and this will create a copy of the file, allowing you to erase the original file from the device.

4. Use OneDrive

OneDrive is a cloud service for Windows. With OneDrive, you can easily store and share photos, videos, documents, and more — anywhere, on any device. You can work on your phone, tablet, or computer to continue what you started – wherever you are. Any changes you make will be updated across all your devices.
