The Criminal Court ruled on appeal AlexandriaToday, Saturday, the so-called M.A. was sentenced to 15 years in prison on charges of killing a taxi driver on a public road, and the first-degree sentence was amended after it had been life imprisonment.

The events of the case registered under No. 64 of 2025, Moharam Bey Police Department, felonies, are due to the receipt of a signal from the main university hospital to the Moharam Bey Police Department, about the arrival of the victim, Ahmed Youssef Abdel Rahim Abdel Fattah, as a result of a severe scalp wound ranging from 10 cm to 15 cm.
Investigations revealed that the accused, M.M., took a tuk-tuk, and after his arrival, he got out, holding a white weapon – a knife – in his hand, headed towards the victim, and assaulted him, using the white weapon in his possession, intending to take his life. This resulted in him suffering 5 blows, and the security services were able to arrest him.
Investigations revealed that the accused surprised the victim from behind and hit him in the head with a knife. After he fell to the ground, he stabbed him several more times in the head and hand, before fleeing and returning to take a tuk-tuk to complete his way to the wedding.
The accused claimed that he wanted to hit him just to incapacitate him, denying the intention to kill, noting that the knife used was in the possession of a friend of his before he recovered it from him.
After codifying the procedures, the accused was arrested and presented to the investigating authorities, which began their investigations with him, and referred him to the Alexandria Criminal Court.
