German footballer Sebastian Hirtner – defender of Hamburg, a fifth-tier club – was killed, at the age of 34, after falling from a cable car.

Sebastian Hirtner, Hamburg’s German defender, breathed his last in the accident after the cable car fell on him in the Savin Cook resort, north of Montenegro, from a height of about 70 meters.
The German newspaper Bild reported that one of the carts separated from its cable and fell on the seat of the player who previously represented the German national team in the youth categories.
The newspaper also added that the player’s wife was seriously injured and had a broken leg after she got stuck under the cart, noting that three other tourists were injured in the accident, which is under investigation, while the ski station was temporarily closed.
Throughout his career, Hertner moved between several obscure clubs, noting that he participated in 95 matches in the second division, and had never played in the first division, the Bundesliga.
