The Ministry of Health and Population stressed the importance of raising community awareness of the warning symptoms of childhood cancer, coinciding with the activities of World Childhood Cancer Day, stressing the need to quickly go to the doctor immediately upon noticing any abnormal symptoms that may indicate infection, which contributes to early detection and improving the chances of treatment and recovery.
The most prominent warning indicators of childhood cancer
The Ministry explained, in an awareness publication, that among the most prominent warning signs that require attention are a child’s high temperature for no apparent reason or for extended periods, the presence of painless lumps or swelling in any part of the body, in addition to paleness of the face or the easy appearance of unjustified bruising or bleeding.
She added that constant fatigue, frequent complaints of headaches, or feelings of pain in the bones and joints are also symptoms that should not be ignored, especially if they continue for a period of time or are repeated without a clear explanation.
The Ministry of Health and Population stressed that early detection represents the cornerstone of dealing with childhood tumors, as it contributes to raising cure rates and reducing complications, calling on parents not to be complacent with any unusual symptoms, and to seek medical advice immediately to ensure an accurate diagnosis and receive appropriate care in a timely manner.
The Ministry confirmed its continued efforts to support services for diagnosing and treating children’s tumors within its health facilities, as part of the state’s strategy to enhance integrated health care and improve the quality of services provided to children in various governorates.
