Samsung data usually shows that the Ultra version of the Galaxy S series outsells the regular and Plus versions combined, despite being the most expensive. But the situation is different with foldable phones, as the cheaper Galaxy Z Flip achieves higher sales than the more expensive Galaxy Z Fold.
However, new leaks reported by leakster Ice Universe indicate that Samsung is planning to change the equation this year. According to internal sources, the company intends to produce about 3.5 million units of the Galaxy Z Fold8, compared to only between 2.5 and 3 million units of the Galaxy Z Flip8.
On the other hand, these numbers do not include the new model expected to be launched as the Galaxy Wide Fold, which is said to have a production target of one million units. The Galaxy Z TriFold also appears as a limited-quantity product aimed at enhancing the series’ image rather than achieving huge sales.

However, these numbers remain only preliminary production targets, as the volume of actual demand from users remains the decisive factor in determining the true performance of each model.
On the other hand, Ice Universe recently revealed the production plans for the Galaxy S26 series, which is more inclined in favor of the Ultra version. The reason for this discrepancy is likely to be that mass production of the S26 Ultra began in December, while manufacturing of the S26 and S26+ versions began only in January.
According to expectations, Samsung is expected to unveil the Galaxy S26 series by the end of this month, with its new foldable phones arriving on the market during or near July.
