He said Hisham Ezz Al-ArabCEO of the Commercial International Bank CIB, said that some of the economic proposals put forward by the Egyptian businessman Hassan Heikal represent extreme danger because they do not take into account the repercussions of economic decisions, stressing that this type of issue can only be understood or dealt with by specialists in economics.
Ezz Al-Arab added, through his account on the X website, that Egypt is a country with great and unlimited potential, stressing that it has not defaulted on any financial obligation or “a single penny” over the course of decades, which reflects the strength of the state and its ability to fulfill its pledges.
He explained that the problem with these proposals is that Heikal looks at the “glass half empty” only by focusing on the size of the debt, without considering the ratio of debt to state revenues, indicating that applying the principle of budget unity alone is sufficient to reduce the debt service to about half.
Ezz Al-Arab concluded his speech by emphasizing that economics is a complex science that does not lend itself to the logic of initiatives, experiments, or “reversals,” saying: He who does not read does not understand… and the economy cannot be managed by unstudied diligence.
