This decision will apply, according to the new directives, to immigrants who came from the 19 countries after January 20, 2021, the date of Biden’s inauguration, and each of them will be re-interviewed separately to assess the extent to which they may pose a threat to national security.

According to the memorandum issued by the US Immigration Department, foreigners from these countries received notices of cancellation of citizenship granting ceremonies scheduled for this week, including those who passed naturalization tests, and they will not be allowed to take the citizenship oath, and this applies to all individuals from these countries who entered the country on or after Biden’s inauguration day.

The countries included in the resolution include: Libya, Sudan, Yemen, Somalia, Iran, Afghanistan, Burma, Burundi, Chad, Cuba, Republic of the Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Haiti, Laos, Sierra Leone, Togo, Turkmenistan, and Venezuela.
