US President Donald Trump announced today that US forces launched a number of raids on Venezuela and arrested President Nicolas Maduro and his wife, First Lady Flores.

An Egyptian residing in Venezuela reveals the situation after Maduro’s arrest

Barakat Ahmed Bassiouni, one of the Egyptians residing in Venezuela, told Cairo 24: We are happy because Maduro is gone, and we look forward to a better future, and we feel stable, and there is no fear at all for us as Egyptians.

He added: The feelings of joy at his arrest were real and not fake as some said.

He added: We are waiting for someone else to take power after Maduro, and we hope for a better life, and we look forward to the release of all prisoners during the reign of Nicolas Maduro.

Yesterday, Friday, the United States announced that it had imposed sanctions on members of the family of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro, his wife, and those close to them, after US Treasury Secretary Scott Besent accused them of “supporting the rogue drug state led by Nicolas Maduro.”
