A video circulated on the social media platform
Reuters was not able to immediately obtain a comment from a spokesman for Niger’s military government, which seized power in a July 2023 coup.
Niger, located in West Africa, like its neighbors Mali and Burkina Faso, is subject to attacks by terrorist groups linked to Al-Qaeda and ISIS, which have resulted in the deaths of thousands and the displacement of millions in the three countries.
