Today, Saturday, the Damanhour Criminal Court, Tenth Circuit, held at the Itay El-Baroud Court of First Instance, sentenced Karim Sameh Shaaban and Mahmoud Abdallah Abdelkader to death by hanging, and life imprisonment for the accused, Khamis Abdallah Abdelkader, for accusing them of killing Samir Saleh, a tuk-tuk driver, with whom they were related by marriage, due to family disputes between the victim and his ex-wife.

The court, headed by Counselor Khaled Muhammad Barakat, and with the membership of Counselors Nabil Saad Ibrahim, Ahmed Hassan Hamouda, and Taher Jaber Al-Kharash, also decided to acquit the fourth defendant, Muhammad Abdullah Abdul Qader, of the accusations against him.
The Al-Saraniya area, affiliated with the Kafr Al-Dawwar center in Beheira Governorate, witnessed an unfortunate incident, as a tuk-tuk driver died as a result of being bruised in the head by a wooden stick, at the hands of his ex-wife’s brother and her sister’s son, due to disagreements between the victim and his ex-wife.
The details of the incident go back to July 2025, when the security services in the Beheira Security Directorate received a notification from the warden of Kafr al-Dawwar Police Station, stating that a tuk-tuk driver had arrived at the General Hospital with a dead body as a result of bruising to the head with a wooden stick. The body was kept at the disposal of the investigation authorities, the necessary report on the incident was drawn up, and it was presented to the investigation authorities to take legal measures regarding the incident.
Immediately, the security services moved to Kafr al-Dawwar police station, and upon moving and examining it, it was revealed that four accused were behind the perpetration of the incident, due to disagreements between the victim and his ex-wife, and the body was kept at the disposal of the investigation authorities.
By codifying the procedures, the investigation officers of the Kafr Al-Dawwar Police Station were able to arrest the accused, and a report was written on the incident. After presenting it to the investigating authorities, they decided to present the body to forensic medicine to determine the causes of death.
