Gold prices in the local market witnessed a state of remarkable stability at midday trading today, Sunday, April 12, 2026, amid a state of anticipation prevailing in global markets regarding economic and geopolitical developments, which continue to affect the movement of the yellow metal as it is one of the most important safe havens in times of uncertainty.
The price of a gram of 21 carat gold, the most widely traded in Egypt, was about 7,160 pounds, while an ounce globally stabilized at $4,750.
Gold prices today in Egypt:
24 karat: recorded about 8182 pounds per gram.
22 karat: recorded about 7501 pounds per gram.
21 karat: recorded about 7160 pounds per gram.
18 karat: recorded about 6137 pounds per gram.
The price of the gold pound recorded about 57,280 pounds.
At the global level, ounce prices stabilized at the level of $4,750, amid investors’ continuous monitoring of developments in global markets, which are directly reflected in the movement of the yellow metal up and down.
