Dutch seismologist Frank Huger Bates warned of the possibility Earthquakes In the East African region, pointing out that countries such as Ethiopia are located in the heart of the earthquake belt, he explained that moderate earthquakes may occur from time to time, with the possibility of larger earthquakes occurring with a magnitude of up to 7 degrees on the Richter scale, which he described as a disaster if it happened.

The seismologist added, during television statements, that expected earthquakes are usually not very frequent, but recent events, such as the moderate earthquake that occurred yesterday, remind us of the need to take caution in these areas.

In another part of his talk, Frank Huger Bates touched on the phenomenon of the Great Contraction and Dark Energy, referring to the theory that the universe may contract at a later stage after its current expansion.

He stressed that this phenomenon occurs over billions of years, and does not pose any immediate threat to humanity, stressing that worrying about it at the present time is unnecessary.
