The Directorate of Supply and Internal Trade in Dakahlia Governorate has continued its intensive efforts since the beginning of 2026 to control markets, protect citizens, and provide basic goods at reasonable prices, in implementation of the directives of Dr. Sherif Farouk, Minister of Supply and Internal Trade, and the instructions of Major General Tariq Marzouk, Governor of Dakahlia, and under the supervision of accountant Ali Hassan Abdel Fattah, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Supply in Dakahlia.
In its report for the period from January 1 to January 31, 2026, the Directorate revealed the implementation of expanded field campaigns on markets, bakeries, mills, and gas stations, in addition to following up on catering merchants and dealers, and preparing exhibitions in preparation for the month of Ramadan, in addition to examining citizens’ complaints through the complaints and legal affairs system.
The control campaigns resulted in the issuance of 3,489 various catering violations, including bakeries, markets, petroleum products, and catering merchants.
Supervision of bakeries
The Directorate intensified daily visits to the 1,820 bakeries in various centers and cities of the governorate, to ensure compliance with weights, specifications, and quality of production, and to ensure the fair distribution of subsidized flour and prevent tampering with quotas. 2,396 ration violations were issued to bakeries.
On the financial level, the total fines due during the month amounted to 10,596,684 pounds, while 10,708,266 pounds were collected, while the remaining amounts of the total cumulative fines amounted to 37,701,342.81 pounds.
