Transforming rural families from consumers to producers

Major General Yasser Kamal El-Din, head of the Farafra Center and City, revealed the numbers and tangible results achieved by the project on the ground, explaining that 42 poultry batteries and 1,250 laying hens were distributed, in addition to 4.5 tons of high-quality feed. These grants aim to support table egg production projects run by women and youth beneficiaries, ensuring the availability of animal protein locally and creating a sustainable source of income.

The head of the center confirmed that the project was not limited to the financial aspect only, but rather comprehensive food and health awareness campaigns were implemented. These campaigns targeted 300 rural women, 200 school students, and 200 young graduates in the villages of (Al-Liwaa Subeih, Al-Nahda, and Othman Bin Affan). These efforts coincided with the distribution of food support cartons to the most needy families, and the organization of interactive activities for children to instill a culture of healthy nutrition.

The head of the Farafra Center added that, at the level of cadre qualification, more than 80 young men and women were trained on the principles of modern agricultural entrepreneurship. These trainings resulted in the selection of winning teams that were supported to implement emerging projects that contribute to improving the standard of living and enhance the paths of sustainable rural development sought by the Egyptian state in the Farafra Oasis.
