Details of the Chairman of the Referees Committee’s analysis of the Al-Ahly and Degla match situations
The sources explained in their statements to Cairo 24 that Colombian Oscar Ruiz, head of the referees’ committee, during his lecture yesterday to the elite referees, reviewed the penalty kick awarded to the Al-Ahly club team against Wadi Degla, where he confirmed its validity.

The Chairman of the Referees Committee pointed out that the VAR referee had a clear photographic angle of the game that should have been shown only, and not showing other angles that did not clearly show the presence of Al-Ahly player Imam Ashour’s leg above the penalty area line.
The sources pointed out that Oscar’s lecture to the elite referees yesterday did not witness a review of the game in which Wadi Degla demanded a penalty kick be awarded in its favor, after one of its players fell inside Al-Ahly’s penalty area during a joint ball with Al-Ahly duo Yasser Ibrahim and Ashraf Bin Sharqi.

Majed Sami, owner of Wadi Degla Club, launched a strong attack on the VAR video referees, after the loss his club team suffered to Al-Ahly with a score of 3-1 in the framework of the 16th round of the Premier League competition.
Through his official Facebook account, Majed Sami wrote: As long as the VAR referees are human and not computers, corruption in arbitration will continue and will even increase. At least without the VAR, he would oppress both teams for hours, but with the VAR he chooses when to work and when not.
