Dakahlia Governorate continues its intensive preparations for the launch of the runoff round for the 2025 House of Representatives elections, scheduled to be held on Wednesday and Thursday, December 17 and 18, in implementation of the directives of the political leadership to ensure the integrity of the electoral process and provide a safe climate for voters.
Major General Tariq Marzouk, Governor of Dakahlia, confirmed the intensification of field follow-up to all electoral committee headquarters at the governorate level, to ensure their full readiness in terms of logistical and organizational equipment, which contributes to facilitating the voting process for citizens without obstacles.
The governor explained that the state stands at the same distance from all candidates, with full commitment to neutrality and transparency, and providing all necessary support to ensure the electoral process proceeds in a regular and disciplined manner.
As part of the preparations, the degree of readiness was raised within hospitals and health units, with emergency plans being developed to deal with emergency cases, and ambulances distributed to the headquarters of the electoral committees in all districts of the governorate, to ensure rapid response in the event of any health emergency.
The equipment also included intensifying public cleaning work around the polls, periodically removing collections of garbage and waste, and preventing occupancy, in addition to monitoring the streets leading to the voting centers and increasing the efficiency of lighting there, in order to facilitate the movement of voters and provide a suitable environment for casting votes.
The runoff round will be held in 657 electoral headquarters, including 795 subcommittees and 10 general committees. The number of voters registered in Dakahlia Governorate is 4 million, 708 thousand and 301 voters, distributed among 10 electoral districts, in which 42 candidates are competing for 21 seats in the House of Representatives.
The Governor of Dakahlia affirmed the continuation of full coordination between the executive and security agencies, and the follow-up of the progress of the electoral process moment by moment, to ensure that it emerges in a civilized manner befitting the people of the governorate, and to ensure that citizens exercise their constitutional right in a safe and orderly atmosphere.
