A telephone call took place between Dr. Badr Abdel Aty, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration, and Affairs of Egyptians Abroad, and Mr. Peter Szijjártó, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary, on Monday, December 15, 2025, within the framework of continuous consultation and coordination between the two friendly countries on ways to strengthen bilateral relations and exchange visions regarding regional and international issues of common interest.

Egyptian-Hungarian cooperation

During the call, Minister Abdel Aty expressed appreciation for the remarkable development witnessed by Egyptian-Hungarian relations in recent years, noting that this development reflects the joint political will of the leadership of the two countries to push bilateral cooperation to broader horizons.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs stressed the keenness to continue building on this positive momentum by intensifying economic, trade and investment cooperation, and encouraging more partnerships between private sector institutions in the two countries, in a way that achieves common interests and supports development goals.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs also noted the importance of continuing coordination and consultation between the two countries within multilateral forums, and exchanging mutual support regarding issues of common interest, which reflects the depth of the existing partnership between the two countries and contributes to enhancing regional and international stability.

Regarding developments in the Gaza Strip, Minister Abdel Ati stressed the importance of ensuring the sustainability of the ceasefire, and implementing the entitlements of the second phase of US President Trump’s plan, in a way that contributes to stabilizing the calm and preventing renewed violence.

In this context, he stressed the necessity of fully implementing Security Council Resolution No. 2803, and accelerating the deployment of the Interim International Stabilization Force to monitor the ceasefire, protect civilians, and create a safe environment within the Strip.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs also stressed the importance of humanitarian aid entering without obstacles and in the necessary quantities, and supporting early recovery and reconstruction steps, which contributes to improving the living conditions of the Palestinians, and paves the way for the return of the Palestinian Authority to assume its duties in the Gaza Strip, within the framework of an integrated vision that preserves the unity of the Palestinian land, and supports the political path aimed at achieving a just and comprehensive peace in accordance with international references.
