Islam Ahmed, the student’s lawyer, said that the Public Prosecution has set December 20 to consider the first session of the trial of the teaching assistant, who is accused of having an illicit relationship with a student at the Faculty of Physical Education at Minya University, and exploiting his authority and false promises to seduce her and force her to terminate an incestuous pregnancy more than once.
The lawyer explained that the details of the report submitted by the student revealed that she was subjected to psychological, academic and emotional exploitation, after the accused deluded her into improving her grades and marrying her, before the relationship developed into meetings inside the university grounds out of sight, which ended in an illegitimate pregnancy that she was forced to terminate.
Islam Ahmed confirmed that the prosecution listened to the student’s statements and presented medical reports and official records supporting her story, noting that his client was subjected to severe psychological pressure and attempts to influence her testimony before the accused was transferred to trial.
He called for the maximum penalty to be imposed on the accused, as he violated professional honesty and took advantage of his position within the educational institution, continuing: “The student was a victim of clear exploitation, and we will not give up her right and will not accept pressure or settlements.”
The lawyer indicated that the December 20 session will be the beginning of the stages of the case before the court, pointing out that the student is suffering from a difficult psychological condition as a result of what she was exposed to.
