A state of great sadness prevailed over the people of the village of Al-Kroum, affiliated with the village council of Kaiman Al-Mataana, in the Esna center, south of Luxor Governorate, following the collapse of a two-story house, which caused a human tragedy for a simple family receiving a solidarity and dignity pension, as the accident destroyed the entire trousseau of a bride who was preparing for her wedding within a few days.
Divine providence saves an elderly person and two families
The initial inspection and details of the report revealed that the collapsed house consisted of two floors, with an elderly man residing on the ground floor, while two families lived on the second floor.
Joy turned into a nightmare…the bride’s trousseau was lost
Divine providence intervened to save all the residents of the house from certain death under the rubble, without recording any human losses or injuries, but the material losses were huge.
The tragedy of the afflicted family was doubled, as they were of limited income and entitled to a solidarity and dignity pension, and they were awaiting the joy of their daughter’s wedding in the coming days, but the collapse of the house turned the joy into a broken heart after the two parts of life and the bride’s trousseau were completely crushed under the rubble.
Investigations to uncover the causes of the collapse
Immediately, the concerned authorities opened extensive investigations to determine the technical and engineering reasons that led to the sudden collapse of the house. The damage is being assessed and ways of supporting the affected family and providing them with alternative housing are being investigated.
