Fatwa: Beware of being ignorant of the virtue of the month of Shaban and the reward of working in it
Dar Al-Iftaa wrote on its Facebook account: Beware of being among those who are heedless of the virtue of the month of Sha’ban and the reward of work in it, and remember that the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him and his family, was keen to revive his day with fasting. When he was asked about that, he said: “That is a month that people ignore, between Rajab and Ramadan…” Narrated by Al-Nasa’i.
Meanwhile, Dar Al-Iftaa answered a question received from one of its followers, which read: What is the ruling on celebrating the night of the middle of Sha’ban and praying during its night and fasting during its day?
She said on her website: Celebrating the night of the middle of the blessed month of Shaban is legitimate and desirable, and the noble Sharia has desired to revive it and seize its essence. By praying during the night and fasting during the day; In an effort to attain its bounty and reward, and the goodness and blessings that come down from it, Muslims have traditionally commemorated and celebrated this night throughout the centuries without objection.
She continued: The claims of extremists who say that it is a heresy do not affect the confirmation of the virtue of this night, and it is not permissible to pay attention to such corrupt opinions as they do. It is refuted by the hadiths, the sayings of the imams of the nation, its stable and proven work, and what is established in the rules of Sharia law that whoever knows is an argument against he who does not know.
