A meeting was held between Belarusian Minister of Communications Kirill Zaleski and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Arab Emirates Belarus Ibrahim Salim Al-Musharraf, and the two parties expressed their interest in exchanging experiences in the field of digital transformation, according to the Belarusian News Agency.
According to Emirati media, the two parties discussed the prospects for bilateral cooperation in the field of digital transformation, including the development of artificial intelligence technologies, digital healthcare, cybersecurity, investment activities, and cooperation in international organizations.
Strategic cooperation in digital development
They agreed to intensify negotiations in preparation for signing an interagency agreement on strategic cooperation in digital development. The two parties also reviewed practical mechanisms for implementing the agreements previously signed between the two countries: the Free Trade Agreement in Services and Investment, and the Economic Partnership Agreement between the Eurasian Economic Union and the United Arab Emirates.
Kirill Zalesky highlighted the high level of digital solutions applied in the UAE, and expressed his interest in expanding bilateral contacts and exchanging best practices in this field.
The talks also addressed the implementation of the agreements reached during the visit of the Belarusian delegation to Dubai in October 2025. In addition, the two sides agreed to intensify bilateral dialogue on current areas of cooperation with the support of the UAE diplomatic mission in Minsk.
The Belarusian side also confirmed its readiness to support the candidacy of the United Arab Emirates for membership in the EMS Cooperation Council for the period 2026-2028, which operates within the framework of the Universal Postal Union.
