The price of the dollar against the pound stabilized today, Tuesday, December 23, 2025, within a number of banks operating in the banking sector, as the average exchange rate of the US dollar within the Central Bank recorded about 47.51 pounds for purchase and 47.65 pounds for sale.
Dollar prices today in Egypt
The dollar recorded at the Commercial International Bank CIB about 47.53 pounds for purchase and 47.63 pounds for sale, while at Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank it recorded about 47.55 pounds for purchase and 47.65 pounds for sale.
The dollar recorded in the National Bank of Egypt, Banque Misr, SAIB Bank, Housing and Development Bank, Next Bank, Suez Canal Bank, United Bank, and Arab African International Bank, about 47.51 pounds for purchase and 47.65 pounds for sale.
The price of the dollar in Faisal Islamic Bank, Arab International Bank AIB, Bank of Alexandria, and Al Ahli Bank of Kuwait reached about 47.55 pounds to buy and 47.65 pounds to sell, and in the National Bank of Kuwait (NBK) and Qatar National Bank (QNB), the dollar recorded 47.51 pounds to buy and 47.63 pounds to sell.
The lowest price for the dollar was recorded at Credit Agricole, the Egyptian Gulf Bank, and Al Baraka Bank at 47.50 pounds for purchase and 47.60 pounds for sale.
Central Bank of Egypt meeting
The Monetary Policy Committee of the Central Bank of Egypt is preparing to hold its last meeting in 2025, next Thursday, December 25, 2025, to discuss the fate of interest rates on deposit and lending operations and the rate of the Central Bank’s main operation, with citizens, investors, and financial market experts awaiting what the meeting will produce, especially after the rise in inflation rates for the month of November 2025, and mixed expectations between stabilization and a 1% reduction.
