He received Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, President cabinetThis evening, Dr. Qu Dongyu, Director-General of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), at the government headquarters in the New Capital, received the “Agricola Medal,” the highest honor of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), awarded to President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, in the presence of Dr. Badr Abdel-Aty, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration, and Egyptians Abroad Affairs, Alaa El-Din Farouk, Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, and Mina Rizk, Chairman of the Executive Council. At the beginning of the meeting, Dr. Mostafa Madbouly expressed his welcome to Dr. Qu Dongyu, Director-General of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), at the government headquarters in the new capital, appreciating his presence to hand over the highest medal of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), the “Agricola Medal,” awarded to President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic.
The Prime Minister conveyed to the Director-General of the Organization the appreciation of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, for receiving this medal, stressing Egypt’s aspiration to support cooperation with the FAO.
For his part, Dr. Qu Dongyu, Director-General of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), affirmed his aspiration to support cooperation with Egypt during the coming period, as well as his aspiration for continued coordination between the two sides.
The Director-General of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) explained that granting this medal to the President of the Republic comes in appreciation of his efforts in supporting food security issues and combating hunger, as well as providing humanitarian support to neighboring countries suffering from severe crises.
Dr. Qu Dongyu pointed out that the Agricola Medal is the highest award granted by the FAO to leaders, kings and heads of state for their efforts in support of the goals of the FAO.
