Major General Dr. Ismail Kamal gave governorship Aswan His instructions to officials in various executive agencies to intensify inspection campaigns aimed at controlling markets and ensuring the suitability and quality of food commodities for human consumption, entrusted with the necessity of taking deterrent measures against any violations detected.

For his part, Dr. Juma Makki, Director General of Veterinary Medicine, explained that in implementation of the mandates of the Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, Alaa Farouk, and the Governor of Aswan, Major General Dr. Ismail Kamal, and with the follow-up of Dr. Hamid Al-Aqnas, Head of the General Authority for Veterinary Services, a massive inspection campaign was implemented on municipal butcher shops and frozen meat refrigerators within the scope of the center and city of Aswan.
He pointed out that the campaign was conducted under the supervision of Dr. Siham Zaher, Director of the Directorate’s Slaughterhouses Department, and Dr. Ibrahim Fathallah, Head of the Directorate’s Slaughterhouses and Meat Inspection Department, and included Dr. Salah Ahmed, Head of the Department’s Meat Inspection Department, and in partnership with City Council licensing inspectors.
The campaign’s efforts resulted in the seizure of 114 kg of meat and poultry unfit for human consumption, including 53 kg of camel meat, 43 kg of beef, and 18 kg of poultry, with the issuance of 4 misdemeanor reports from the Aswan First Police Department. The violations were the display and sale of meat unfit for human consumption and commercial fraud, slaughtered outside government slaughterhouses, with reservations placed on the seized items, until the prosecution’s decision is issued. The public, and the necessary legal measures are being taken regarding the incident.
