The Endowments Directorate in Assiut announced the launch of the activities of the first day of the Cultural Week at Al-Rahman Mosque in the city AssiutIn the presence of a group of scholars from the Endowments Directorate and Al-Azhar University, in the presence of Dr. Eid Ali Khalifa, Dr. Muhammad Ahmed Sayed Selim, Sheikh Adel Ammar Muhammad, and the reader Sheikh Mahmoud Abdel Moneim Farraj.
The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Endowments in Assiut said that the Cultural Week opened with a fragrant recitation of verses from the Holy Book in the voice of Sheikh Mahmoud Abdel Moneim Farrag, who with his mellow voice sent waves of reassurance as if they were a dawn breeze gently creeping into hearts, paving the way for a night in which the letter meets guidance, and the word meets the message.
He added that he gave a speech on the topic of optimism in Islam and its positive impact, and stressed that optimism is not an emergency feeling, but rather a state of faith that is rooted in the heart of the believer when he is certain that God’s provision is all good. He explained that optimism is not pending wishes, but rather fuel that pushes a person to work, give, and build life.
He stressed that despair destroys while hope builds, and that optimism rearranges the interior, strengthens one’s resolve, strengthens the family, reforms society, and contributes to creating generations that know the value of building.
He explained that the mission of the mosque is not limited to performing rituals, but rather extends to creating a new awareness that builds a human being capable of facing challenges and turning obstacles into steps, citing the Almighty’s saying: “Indeed, with hardship there is ease,” as if they were divine pearls scattered on the road to illuminate the paths of the weary.
He pointed out that Dr. Muhammad Ahmed Sayed Salim explained the doctrinal basis of optimism, stressing that belief in destiny plants certainty in the heart that cannot be shaken by storms, and that whoever realizes that God is kind to His servants and wise in His decrees, thinks well, is reassured, and walks through life with a reassured heart, explaining that trust does not mean abandoning striving, but rather it is an action supported by certainty, and striving backed by trust in God.
He pointed out that the Prophet’s biography is full of situations overflowing with optimism, even in the most difficult moments, citing as evidence the Prophet’s saying to Suraqa bin Malik while he was being persecuted: “How will you be if you wear Khosrau’s bracelets?” It is a promise that glorified hope in the harshest circumstances, to be an eternal lesson that hope may be born from the womb of pain, and that certainty may blossom when doors are closed.
The activities concluded with an emphasis on the fact that optimism is not a psychological luxury, but rather a societal necessity, and that it is a cornerstone in building generations that are more aware, resilient, and capable of participating in the nation’s renaissance.
It was noted that the Ministry, in cooperation with the university, is continuing to implement programs that contribute to creating positive awareness, based on hope, work, hard work and diligence, and reviving the meanings of faith that save hearts from distress and raise people to levels of strength and stability.
