I witnessed Port Said Governorate During the weekend, there was a noticeable influx of residents and visitors from the governorate, coming from various governorates of the Republic, and citizens flocked to a number of tourist and service destinations, most notably the Salt Mountains, the cultural fish market, and the outlet market, which reflected the growing status of Port Said as a destination for one-day tourism, recreational and service tourism, and its combination of historical and cultural character and commercial activity.

I received Port Fouad city Visitors via ferries that connect the banks of Port Said and Port Fouad, and the visitors were keen to take tours that included the historic dome of the Suez Canal Authority, the Islamic Complex, the Grand Mosque of Port Fouad, the villa of the late President Mohamed Anwar Sadat, the Port Fouad Sports Club, and the French-style villas of the Suez Canal Authority, in addition to walking in the streets of the city, which is characterized by green spaces and distinguished urban planning.
Large numbers of visitors headed to the Nasr Company’s saltwater area, known in the media as “Salt Mountains,” which turned into one of the unconventional tourist destinations in the governorate. The visitors enjoyed taking souvenir and professional photos that mimic the atmosphere of European snowy mountains.
The service areas witnessed wide demand, most notably the urban fish market, where visitors expressed their admiration for the level of organization, the diversity of the offering, and the quality of the products, which reflects the development witnessed in the urban markets in Port Said. The outlet market also recorded a remarkable demand for the clothes it offers at competitive prices, and contributed to stimulating commercial activity and supporting the local economy.
Many visitors expressed their happiness at visiting Port Said and Port Fouad, and praised the diverse tourism components, the European architectural character, and the state of development witnessed by the infrastructure and services, stressing that the governorate now possesses an integrated mix of recreational, historical and commercial tourism.
Major General Staff Harb Moheb Habashi, Governor of Port Said, announced the start of full operation of the new cleaning system implemented by the “Nahdet Misr Modern Environmental Services” Company, as of the first of this January, stressing the readiness of the system to operate at its full capacity according to modern operating mechanisms and advanced technical standards, with the aim of raising the level of services, achieving a clean and safe environment, and restoring the civilized appearance of the governorate.

The Governor of Port Said stressed adherence to work plans and timetables and raising the efficiency of performance around the clock, with a focus on areas with high population densities, main streets, beaches and cemeteries, stressing the continuation of coordination between the company, the neighborhoods and Port Fouad, and decisive dealing with the phenomenon of pickpockets and random garbage sorting places, and taking legal measures against violators, within the framework of supporting the success of the system and improving the quality of life for citizens.
