Director Ahmed Khaled confirmed that artists’ wages are not a secret, pointing out that artists know the value of each other’s wages, and that the presence of some of them among the highest paid is a natural and welcome matter.
He added during his phone call to the Details program, broadcast on Sada El Balad channel, presented by media personality Nihal Tayel, that what is most important to him as a director is the impact of the artistic work on society and the number of views, stressing that drama does not necessarily depend on movie stars.
He continued: “Every artistic field has its own peculiarity. Cinema has its stars, and drama has its own character.
He stressed that the great artist Adel Imam is the only exception who has maintained this status for many years, adding that the situation is similar in American cinema, where front-line stars are known for their high wages.
