This comes based on the directives of Dr. Walid Al-Barqi, Governor of the Red Sea, on the necessity of intensifying the work of inspection committees on bakeries, to confirm the weight of the loaf produced and to review the flour quotas set for each bakery in the cities of the governorate.

The campaign resulted in 7 warnings being issued for various reasons, including failure to meet occupational and environmental safety and health and food safety requirements.

4 hygiene reports were also issued, as well as 2 reports of the loss of the weight of a loaf of bread. Bakery owners were also warned not to use single-use plastic bags and to replace them with environmentally friendly biodegradable bags. Anyone who violates the instructions will be subject to legal punishment.

The committee was implemented by the Directorate of Supply and Environment, South District, Occupational Safety and Health, and the Food Safety Authority, under the supervision of the General Supervisor of the Committees, the Director of the Environment in the city.

For his part, the head of the city stressed the continuation of inspection campaigns to visit bakeries on a regular basis and to take the necessary legal measures against violators.
