The security services at the Ministry of Interior were able to arrest a person on charges of engaging in criminal activity in the field of fraud and seizing sums of money by claiming alleged influence in an electricity company.

Information and investigations from the General Administration for Combating Public Money Crimes in the Sector of Combating Public Money Crimes and Organized Crime confirmed that a criminal element residing in Cairo Governorate defrauded citizens by claiming to work for one of the electricity companies, possessing alleged influence contrary to the truth, and his ability to connect code electricity meters to all residential units.
After codifying the procedures, the aforementioned person was arrested, and when he was confronted, he confessed to his criminal activity and to defrauding a citizen and obtaining from him a sum of money in exchange for installing 18 meters in residential units in a property owned by him.
Legal measures were taken, and the Public Prosecution took over the investigation. This comes within the framework of combating crimes of seizing citizens’ funds.
In a separate context, The security services at the Ministry of Interior revealed the circumstances of a post supported by a video clip circulated on social media sites that included some people attacking a piece of land and assaulting a woman and her daughter while they were guarding her in Alexandria.
