EgyptAir apologizes for the delay of a number of its flights
The company explained that the leak was detected through monitoring devices in the central control room of the Misr Petroleum Company at the fuel depot at the airport, noting that in such cases the line is temporarily stopped and the alternative emergency plan is activated, which included operating the reserve feeding station.
EgyptAir confirmed that the concerned authorities at Misr Petroleum Company and Cairo International Airport dealt with the situation immediately, and the necessary repair work was carried out in preparation for the return of the branch line to normal operation.
The company stressed that the operation movement did not stop completely, but was partially affected significantly, and that the delays that occurred on a number of flights are considered exceptional circumstances beyond its control, pointing out that the duration of the expected delays may range between 48 and 72 hours, until the repair work is completed and operation returns to normal levels.
EgyptAir renewed its apology for any effects that may have resulted from these delays, appreciating its customers’ understanding and cooperation in light of these emergency circumstances.
