Hussein Fahmy reveals a secret about Adel Adham

Hussein Fahmy said: The influence of patriarchal authority in the home and the pressures and their impact on the human personality are represented in the story of the artist Adel Adham, because he told me the story of how he stuttered in speech and when his father died he began to speak normally, and I asked the artist Ahmed Hatem to use that story to understand the character of Yahya in the movie The Atheist.

Regarding the movie The Atheist, he said: This is basically the nature of cinema. There is a movie that is subject to discussion after watching it. This is what cinemas are, and the same is true of plays. They must be discussed, such as the play Welcome, Bekawat.

He revealed that he met atheists in his life, such as Bertrand Russell, saying: I was in America during the Vietnam War, and we were participating in demonstrations against that war with the Vietnamese people, and I met Bertrand Russell, the author of the book Why Aren’t You a Christian? In which he talks about the reason for his atheism, and through it I learned about how an atheist philosopher and thinker thinks.

He expressed his happiness with the character, saying: The paper made me happy, the character was distinctive, and the artists played wonderful roles. Sabreen played a great role, Mahmoud Hamida, and Ahmed Hatem is a distinguished actor, and I worked with him a lot in several works.
