Dr. Abdel Fattah Siraj, Governor of Sohag, confirmed that the situation is within committees Re-election round The governorate is proceeding in a reassuring and orderly manner, noting that the runoff is taking place in 7 electoral districts for 12 seats, for which 24 candidates are competing, within 588 subcommittees that opened their doors to voters at exactly nine o’clock in the morning.

Sohag Governor: A limited number of electoral violations were observed in some local units

The governor explained, during television statements, that a limited number of violations were monitored in some local units, including Maragha and Dar es Salaam, pointing out that the Ministry of Interior dealt with them immediately, as the violators were arrested, reports were drawn up, and they were referred to the Public Prosecution, stressing that the rapid announcement of the incidents and decisive dealing with them contributed to imposing discipline within the committees.

The Governor of Sohag stressed that the effective security presence played a major role in deterring any attempts to transgress, whether electoral propaganda or electoral bribery, stressing that coordination continues between the central operations room in the governorate and the operations rooms in the local units and various service directorates.

He pointed out that there is continuous field follow-up by the heads of local units, their deputies, and the heads of villages, in addition to coordination with the health, ambulance, and supply directorates to prevent the electoral process from being exploited to create food supply crises. He stressed that the Social Solidarity Directorate provided wheelchairs for the elderly and people of determination, in addition to more than 32 sign language interpreters to facilitate the participation of people with hearing disabilities.

The governor added that the electoral system in the governorate is integrated, and there are no serious violations, noting that turnout is increasing as the hours of the day progress, especially in light of the tribal and communal nature of some constituencies, which requires careful and continuous follow-up on the ground.

At the conclusion of his statements, he stressed that the governorate is working in full coordination with the National Elections Authority to ensure that the electoral process proceeds transparently and regularly, leading to an electoral entitlement that expresses the will of citizens.
