A huge fire broke out between the neighborhoods of Shinata Al-Fawqa and Shinata Al-Tahta in the town of Deirbla in the upper Batroun region in northern Lebanon. The fire quickly spread to the outskirts of homes and consumed areas of grass cover, trees, and “forests,” according to media reports.

According to what was reported in Lebanese newspapers, civil defense teams have been working since the outbreak of the fire to contain it and prevent it from spreading towards residential areas, amid the spread of heavy smoke that has covered the surrounding air.
