
Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Deputy Prime Minister, confirmed Minister of Health And the population, that the preventive medicine and public health sector has achieved outstanding achievements that reflect the continuous development of the health prevention system and the enhancement of its readiness to face health challenges.
This came during an event honoring distinguished cadres in the preventive medicine sector, after they received 3 international awards and praises during the year 2025, in the presence of Dr. Amr Kandil, Deputy Minister for the Preventive Medicine Sector, Public Health, and Primary Care.
The Minister stressed the Ministry’s keenness to establish a culture of excellence and creativity, and to encourage honorable models, based on the importance of investing in the human element as a basic pillar for building a sustainable healthy future.
Dr. Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, the Ministry’s official spokesman, explained that the honor included the trachoma control team, in recognition of its success in completing the international certification file for eliminating the disease, a national achievement that highlights the efficiency of the preventive system.
The honor included the general management team for infection control
He added that the honor included the General Administration of Infection Control team, for its role in 5 Egyptian hospitals obtaining international accreditation in combating antimicrobial resistance, with three of them being chosen as global centers of excellence, which strengthens Egypt’s position on the map of international health quality.
Abdel Ghaffar continued that the Expanded Program for Immunizations team was among those honored for winning first place in the Arab Government Excellence Award (fourth session 2025) in the category of Best Arab Initiative to Develop the Government Sector, in appreciation of the project to mechanize the comprehensive vaccination system with the support of the Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation, as a pioneering model in the digital transformation of the health sector regionally and internationally.
The official spokesman stressed the Ministry’s keenness to support its cadres, strengthen institutional work, and adopt international best practices, to build a strong preventive health system that achieves health security and improves the quality of life of citizens.
