The young Belgian, Laurent Simons, who was known as a child prodigy from a young age, finished high school in just one year, and he was eight years old at the time.
According to what was reported by Reuters, during the defense of his doctoral thesis at the University of Antwerp, he confirmed that his interest in the idea of immortality began when he was eleven years old, and he considered it a primary goal in his scientific career.
Simons holds a PhD in Quantum Physics, where his thesis focused on studying the Bose-Einstein condensate, an ultra-cold physical system in which particles behave as a single quantum entity, and is used as a research environment to understand complex phenomena in many-body physics.
In his statements to the Belgian channel VTM, Simons explained that his future plan is to employ scientific research, medicine, and artificial intelligence to open new horizons for humanity, saying: “I will begin working to achieve my goal of creating superhumans, as human immortality has been one of my main dreams since childhood.”
Laurent has an IQ of 145, which places him in the category of gifted people with high mental abilities according to the Wechsler and Stanford-Binet tests. After obtaining his doctorate, he moved to Munich with his father, where he enrolled in a new doctoral program in medical sciences, specializing in the field of artificial intelligence.
