Engineer Hind Musaed, Assistant Director of the Directorate of Supply and Internal Trade in Matrouh, confirmed that the owner of a company was caught recycling local flour and selling it as luxury flour, after packing it in bags with an underweight of 3 kilos per bag, in the Al-Najila and Barani areas.
Engineer Hind explained that the secret information reached the directorate from one of the governorates of Lower Egypt, where the violator was tracked, an ambush was prepared for him, and his place was raided in cooperation with the Supply Investigation Department.
The intervention resulted in the confiscation of 8 tons of flour in a crime considered commercial fraud and fraud.
The surprise was not hidden when the seized quantities were examined by Food Safety Authority inspectors, as it was found that the flour contains insects and is not fit for human consumption.
A report was drawn up regarding the incident, and all legal measures were taken against the owner of the violating company.
