Fans are waiting for a special confrontation between… Al-Ahly And Ismaily, in the Egyptian Football Clasico tomorrow evening, Wednesday, as part of the Premier League matches.
Burj Al Arab Stadium will host the Al-Ahly and Ismaily match, at full time in the evening, as part of the postponed round of the fourteenth round of the Egyptian League competition.
Al-Ahly and Ismaily, the 77th Clasico
The match between Al-Ahly and Al-Ismaili receives special attention from the fans, because of the rivalry and competition it brings, whether inside the green rectangle or between the supporters of the two teams, throughout the history of the matches.
The conflict between Al-Ahly and Al-Ismaili began 77 years ago, when the two teams met for the first time in the Premier League in the 1948-1989 season, and the Red Giants decided the match at that time with a clean double.
Since then, Al-Ismaily has faced Al-Ahly in the Egyptian Football Classico, during 126 matches. The Red Giants achieved 68 wins compared to 36 draws, while the victory was in favor of the Dervishes in 22 matches.
At the league level, El Clasico was held between Al-Ahly and Al-Ismaili 116 times. The Red Giant won 64 matches, compared to 19 matches for the Dervishes, while 33 matches were tied.
It is considered the largest victory in the history of El Clásico recorded in the name of Al-Ahly, when the Red Giant achieved a victory with a score of 8-0 in the match that brought them together in the 1957-1958 season, and the late Saleh Slim had the lion’s share of Al-Ahly’s goals, after he scored 7 goals, and Al-Ahly returned to achieve a clean six-point victory on two occasions, the first in the 1996-1997 season, and the second in the 2004-2005 season.
As for the biggest victory recorded on behalf of Al-Ismaili at the expense of Al-Ahly, it dates back to the 1963-1964 season, when the Dervishes won 4-1.
