The three-year-old girl, Sajda, was born from the village of Shanwan, affiliated with the Shebin al-Kom center in the governorate. MenoufiaShe suffers from a complete loss of eyes, as she came into this world without an eyeball, and only a socket for the eyes, in a rare condition that deprived her of the blessing of sight from the moment of her birth.
The child’s grandfather revealed in exclusive statements to Cairo 24 that the family discovered her condition only one day after birth, during his visit to her mother, after he noticed the abnormal shape of her eyes, which led him to suspect that she was blind, so he took her to a pediatrician to confirm, who confirmed that the child was indeed blind, and needed a complex surgical intervention that included a nerve transplant and then an eye transplant.

The grandfather added that the family does not yet know the cost of the operation or its availability inside Egypt in the first place, noting that medical analyzes and examinations were conducted for the father and mother, which proved that there is no genetic cause for the condition, but the examinations revealed the presence of a deformity in the mother’s uterus, stressing that the doctors informed them that if a pregnancy occurs again, the fetuses may be exposed to the same problem.
The child’s family appealed to the concerned authorities and philanthropists to support them until she is healed by presenting her to specialists and informing them of the possibility of treating her in Egypt or having to travel abroad, especially since Sajda’s father works as a day laborer and has a limited income, stressing that the child has a very high IQ according to the testimony of doctors, and has memorized some surahs of the Holy Quran, and that her utmost dreams are to see the light and play with other children her age.
