We offer a supplication when the rain falls for sustenance. The Egyptian Fatwa House has confirmed that the time of rain falling is one of the times in which supplication is recommended, because of the divine blessings and vast mercy it carries, noting that the Sunnah of the Prophet has guided comprehensive supplications to be said when the rain falls and after it and upon hearing thunder, in addition to urging people to ask forgiveness a lot and ask God for relief and abundance of sustenance.

A supplication when rain falls for sustenance

Regarding a supplication when rain falls for sustenance, Dr. Salama Daoud, President of Al-Azhar University, explained that the supplication of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, when raining rain represents a high example of eloquence and etiquette with God, as he combined brevity and depth of meaning, and was keen to direct the blessing, not to raise it, in a clear indication of gratitude to God and good supplication to Him.

  • Oh God, grant me an ample, lawful, good and blessed provision
  • Oh God, make this rain a reason to open the doors of livelihood for me
  • Oh God, fill my heart with certainty and bless me from where I do not expect
  • Oh God, as You sent down rain, send down goodness and blessings upon me
  • Oh God, grant me constant and uninterrupted sustenance
  • Oh God, bless my work, my money, and my family
  • Oh God, protect me with your lawful things from your forbidden things, and make me rich with your grace above those other than you
  • Oh God, make this rain a relief for all worries and distress
  • Oh God, grant me contentment and breadth of living
  • Oh God, open for me the doors of your grace and mercy
