The Directorate of Supply and Internal Trade in Beheira launched intensive inspection campaigns on municipal bakeries in the centers of Damanhour, Hosh Issa, and Abu Al-Matamir, to ensure that support reaches those who deserve it and to deter those manipulating the subsidized loaf of bread for citizens, in implementation of the directives of Dr. Jacqueline Azar, Governor of Beheira, and under the follow-up of Mohamed Rajab Hadiya, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Supply, and Suhair Zaatar, Undersecretary of the Directorate.

20 illegal bakeries were seized and 57 flour bags were seized in supply campaigns in Beheira.

The campaigns led by Yasser Al-Muhandis, Director of Supply Control, with the participation of control inspectors Islam Zain al-Din and Hassan Tahouniyeh, resulted in the seizure of two bakeries that disposed of 49 bags of flour for sale on the black market, in addition to the seizure of another bakery that collected 8 bags of flour illegally and was seized.

A violation was also issued against a bakery that produced bread that was underweight by 29 grams per loaf, and 5 other bakeries were caught producing bread that was underweight by up to 19 grams. A bakery was also seized for producing bread that did not conform to specifications.

It also monitored 5 bakeries that stopped production completely without prior permission or a compelling excuse, and sales records are being examined to ensure the presence of fictitious operations, and 5 various violations were issued, including unclean dough tools, the absence of advertising lists, and records of visits.

All necessary legal measures have been taken against the violators and presented to the Public Prosecution, with an emphasis on continuing daily follow-up to control the markets and strictly enforce the law.
