The Supply Directorate in Menoufia Governorate launched intensive monitoring campaigns, targeting bakeries, markets, and stores selling food commodities, in implementation of the directives of Major General Ibrahim Abu Laymoun, Governor of Menoufia, and under the supervision of Osama Mustafa Ezz El-Din, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Supply, with the aim of confronting any violations, controlling markets, and protecting the rights of citizens.
The campaigns resulted in the issuance of 315 various ration reports, including violations of underweight bread, poor specifications, assembling subsidized flour, lack of cleanliness, and goods of unknown origin, in addition to failure to announce prices and other violations.
Food campaigns in Menoufia
The Martyrs Supply Department was able to seize 20 packages of subsidized local flour inside a violating entity, as part of confronting attempts to tamper with subsidized food commodities.
The campaigns also witnessed the seizure of 6 tons of raw materials inside a feed store in the city of Shebin al-Koum without any documents indicating their source, the seizure of 5 tons of cement of unknown origin inside a warehouse in Quesna, and the seizure of 5 tons of rice of unknown origin inside a grocery store in the Shebin al-Koum district.
The campaigns also issued reports to a number of merchants in the Quesna and Arab Raml centers for practicing catering activities without a license, as part of confronting illegal activities that harm the rights of citizens and affect the availability of goods in the local market.
The Menoufia Supply Directorate confirmed the continuation of its daily campaigns to control markets, tighten control over the movement of commodity circulation, and receive citizens’ complaints through the directorate’s electronic portal, the numbers of the relevant departments, the unified portal for government complaints, and the official page of the directorate on social media sites.
