The Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics issued the annual bulletin of work injury statistics in establishments in the government sector, the public sector/public business, the private sector (50 workers or more), and the investment sector in 2024. Among the most important statistical indicators are the following:

• The total number of cases reached Work injuries The number of cases reached 8,091 cases in 2024 (7,019 male cases, 1,072 female cases), compared to 8,317 cases in 2023, a decrease of 226 cases, a decrease of 2.7%.

51.6% of infections in the private sector in 2024

• The number of cases of work-related injuries in the government sector reached 1,370 cases, a rate of 16.9%, the public sector/public business 2,423 cases, a rate of 29.9%, the private sector (50 workers or more) 4,175 cases, a rate of 51.6%, and the investment sector 123 cases, a rate of 1.5% of the total number of cases.

86.8% of injuries to males in 2024

• The number of male work-related injuries cases reached 7,019 cases, or 86.8%, and female injuries were 1,072 cases, or 13.2% of the total number of cases.

• Cairo Governorate recorded the largest number of cases of work-related injuries, reaching 1,969 cases, or 24.3%, followed by Qalyubia Governorate, with 1,298 cases, or 16.0% of the total cases, while the governorates of Kafr El-Sheikh, Fayoum, and Aswan did not record any cases of work-related injuries.

• The profession of technicians and paraprofessionals recorded the largest number of cases of work-related injuries, reaching 2,911 cases, or 36.0%, followed by the profession of factory and machine operators, with 1,906 cases, or 23.6%. While the lowest number of injuries was among legislators, senior officials, and managers, with 52 cases, or 0.6% of the total number of cases.

• The manufacturing activity recorded the largest number of work-related injury cases, reaching 3,687 cases, or 45.6%, followed by the hotel and restaurant activity, with 1,093 cases, or 13.5%. While the domestic service personnel activity did not record any work-related injury cases out of the total number of cases.

• The largest number of injury cases was in (people falling) at 2,600 cases, at a rate of 32.1%, followed by (mistake or collision with objects) at 2,237 cases at a rate of 27.6%, while the smallest number of injury cases was in (accidents that did not lead to human injuries) at 3 cases, at a rate of 0.04% of the total number of cases.
