The Royal Canadian Police announced that at least 10 people were killed in a shooting incident that occurred Tuesday at Tumblr Ridge High School in British Columbia, including the suspect.

The police explained that seven of the victims were found inside the school, while an emergency alert was sent to the mobile phones of local residents warning them not to approach the area, with a recommendation to stay in their homes and close the doors.
Additional forces from nearby police stations were at the scene, while the Trauma Air Rescue Service (STARS) was called in to provide assistance.
Nina Krieger, Minister of Public Safety in British Columbia, confirmed the province’s readiness to support local police and provide all necessary assistance to confront the repercussions of the accident.
In a related context, Larry Newfield, a member of the Legislative Council for the southern Peace River region, announced that he left Victoria to return to his constituency to support the community, stressing that he is following developments and coordinating with emergency response teams.
