ToTok asks Android users to ignore Google’s warning

ToTok, the messaging, voice and video calling application launched recently, entered a famous journey after its launch in certain regions. The application was accused of being an Emirati spy tool in December of last year, and the response was quick from Apple and Google in removing the application from their respective stores.

Since then, ToTok has rejected all allegations of wrongdoing, saying the company does not misuse its users’ personal data. ToTok was able to convince Google to return to the Google Play Store in January 2020.

But once again, Goal returned in February to remove it from its Google Play store. In a new note by its users, the founders of the ToTok program ask the application users to continue using the application despite Google’s warnings that it is an application that violates user privacy.

ToTok is still available via OEM-operated app stores, including Samsung, Huawei, Oppo, and Xiaomi. This company also allows new users to download the application directly from its official website.

After ToTok was removed from the Google Play Store for the second time in a row,

Two days ago, Google sent a warning message via Play Protect to ToTok users, asking them to uninstall the application.

In a separate tweet, ToTok asks Android app users to ignore Google’s warning and continue using ToTok, deeming the company’s app “completely safe.”

The founders wrote, “We see no legitimate reason to ban the new ToTok.” In December last year, a New York Times report claimed that ToTok was being used as an Emirati spying tool. The report claims that ToTok tracks the activities of its users and shares them with the UAE government.

According to the report, the application had millions of users in the United Arab Emirates and began to compete with WhatsApp and Skype, and after this hype, the use of the application began to decrease continuously.

The ToTok application has, so far, denied all the allegations against it. The founders of ToTok believe that the future of the company is in danger due to the “unjustified actions” of Apple and Google, which affected the company’s reputation, and ultimately the business in general.
