Vivo has officially announced the launch of a new phone in the Y500 series in China. The new phone is called Vivo Y500i, joining the Y500 and Y500 Pro versions that were announced last year, with a focus on a large battery and a new design.
Vivo Y500i comes with a huge 7200 mAh lithium-ion battery, which supports 44W fast charging. The phone runs on a Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 processor, with up to 12 GB of RAM and an internal storage capacity of up to 512 GB.
The phone features a 6.75-inch LCD screen with HD+ resolution and a 120 Hz refresh rate, with a brightness of up to 1200 nits, and provides a small hole for the selfie camera. As for the cameras, the vivo Y500i includes a single 50-megapixel rear camera with auto focus and f/1.8 aperture, and a 5-megapixel front camera.

The phone also includes a set of additional specifications, such as IP68/69 water and dust resistance, SGS Gold Label 5-star certification for durability, dual-band Wi-Fi support, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, USB-C port, 3.5 mm headphones port, side fingerprint sensor, and infrared sensor.
The phone is 8.49 mm thick and weighs 219 grams. It is currently available in China in three colors: silver, gold and black. The price of the phone ranges between 1,499 Chinese yuan ($215) for the 8GB/128GB version, and 2,199 Chinese yuan ($315) for the 12GB/512GB version, with medium options at reasonable prices depending on memory and storage.
