The Snapdragon-powered HP EliteBook 6 G1q 14 offers good performance and solid specs, especially for one of the least expensive models in the EliteBook series. In fact, the device integrates more ports than pricier models like the EliteBook 8 14.
However, the device lacks a key feature: a built-in smart card reader, regardless of configuration or model number. Apparently, the Qualcomm version of the EliteBook 6 G1q 14 cannot be configured with a built-in smart card reader, while versions equipped with AMD or Intel processors support this feature.

The device also lacks support for a discrete graphics card, while the Intel version can be configured with the GeForce RTX 3050 option. The likely reason for the absence of a smart card option is the Snapdragon processor that runs Windows ARM instead of the usual x64, which affects compatibility.
In contrast, the EliteBook 6 G1q 14 features a more powerful integrated neural processing unit with up to 45 TOPS, compared to less than half that performance in the Intel and AMD versions.
Thanks to this, the system is faster and more efficient in operating AI features such as Co-Pilot+, HP Poly Cam Pro and more. Hence, the device offers good features depending on how much your office needs a smart card reader.
