The First Circuit of Terrorism, held in Badr, headed by Counselor Mohamed Al-Saeed El-Sherbiny, decided today, Sunday, to postpone the trial of 11 defendants, in Case No. 23849 of 2024, Helwan felonies, known as the “Helwan Cell,” for the April 4 pleading session.

The referral order said that, during the period from 2020 until February 15 of 2021, in the Helwan District district of Cairo Governorate, the first accused founded and assumed the leadership of a terrorist group for the purpose of calling for disruption of public order and endangering the safety and security of society, disrupting the provisions of the Constitution and the law, and of state institutions and public authorities from carrying out their work, attacking the personal freedoms of citizens, and harming national unity and social peace.
The referral order added: The second to fourth defendants joined the group that is the subject of the accusation while knowing its purposes, and the second accused provided a terrorist group with tools and machines while knowing its purposes.
