Apple is two weeks away from hosting its first launch event in 2026. Meanwhile, analysts have provided indications that things may not be as they seem with Apple’s launch event plans.
Earlier this week, Apple confirmed initial details about its first launch event of 2026. The event, which was referred to as a “Special Apple Experience” on Monday, does not yet appear in Apple’s newsroom or its main site. However, various sources such as Mark Gurman insist that the event will take place at 14:00 UTC on March 4 in New York.
At the time, rumors were swirling about more than half a dozen new devices including the Studio Display 2, new iPads, and updated versions of the MacBook Pro 14 and MacBook Pro 16 (currently $2,379 on Amazon). Now, Gorman and John Gruber have pointed out… Daring Fireball Until Apple’s next event, it will not be as extensive or huge as previously expected.
Instead, the pair expect Apple to announce new products via press releases between March 2 and March 4. After that, the “Apple Special Experience” will be an opportunity for selected media to experience these new devices in action before they start shipping. Apparently, the iPad and MacBook releases will be split across separate days as well, with Gruber confirming that the new iPads could arrive on March 3. Casually, the leaker adds “Instant Digital” on the website Weibo The color scheme in Apple’s teaser represents the colors that the “affordable” MacBook will be available in. Thus, the first MacBook powered by Apple A series processors may debut in yellow, green and blue finishes to differentiate it from the MacBook Air and MacBook Pro.
