As expected, RedMagic launched its new RedMagic 11 Air phone in China today, forming a link between the thin and light category and high-performance gaming phones. The phone maintained the series’ distinctive transparent design, with an active cooling fan with RGB lighting, in addition to its reliance on the previous generation Snapdragon 8 Elite processor.

The phone has a full AMOLED screen without any visible openings, thanks to the integration of a 16-megapixel selfie camera at the bottom of the screen, with a built-in optical fingerprint sensor. The screen measured 6.85 inches, with a resolution of 2688 x 1216 pixels and a refresh rate of 144 Hz, with Corning Gorilla Glass 7i protection.

As a gaming phone, RedMagic added touch shoulder control buttons, along with strong memory and storage specifications. The phone comes with options of up to 16 GB of LPDDR5X Ultra memory with a bandwidth of up to 9600 MB per second, with UFS 4.1 storage space with a capacity of up to 512 GB and read speeds of up to 4200 MB per second.

Despite the thinner and lighter design compared to most gaming phones, the phone maintains an active cooling system with a rotating fan at a speed of up to 24,000 rpm. The thickness of the device is 7.85 mm and weighs 207 grams, and it has an IP54 standard for resistance to dust and water splashes.

On the back, the company provided the phone with two cameras, including a 50-megapixel main camera with a 23 mm equivalent focal length and a 1/1.55-inch sensor with support for optical stabilization, along with an 8-megapixel wide camera.

RedMagic provided the phone with a large 7,000 mAh battery that supports 120-watt fast wired charging, while the RedMagic OS 11.0 operating system, based on Android 16, manages the software experience.

RedMagic 11 Air is available in black and white. The price of the 12 GB RAM version with 256 GB storage starts at 3,499 Chinese yuan (about $502), while the price of the 16 GB RAM version with 512 GB storage reaches 4,199 Chinese yuan (about $602).

Nubia has already listed the phone on its online store, without revealing the global launch date yet.
